Eavestroughs and downspouts carry rain off the roof and away from your house. When they sag, leak or overflow, the water ends up where it shouldn’t: against your walls and down by your foundation.
What’s Included
- New eavestrough installation
- Eavestrough repairs
- Downspout installation and repairs
About Eavestroughs
Eavestroughs don’t get much attention until they stop working. Their job is simple: catch the water coming off the roof and carry it away from the house. When they’re clogged, sagging, leaking at the seams or pulling away from the house, that water spills down the walls and soaks the ground right next to the foundation.
That’s how a small eavestrough problem turns into wet basement walls, stained siding or heavy icicles along the roof edge in winter. Getting the troughs sloped right and the downspouts draining away from the house fixes most of it.
Signs Your Eavestroughs Need Work

- Troughs sagging or pulling away from the house
- Leaks or drips at the joints and corners
- Peeling paint or stains on the walls below

Common Questions
Do I need new eavestroughs or just a repair?
If the troughs are in good shape and only leaking at the joints or pulling away in spots, a repair may be enough. Joseph will tell you which one makes sense when he looks at them.
Why does it matter where my downspouts drain?
Water from a downspout should end up away from the house. If it empties right next to the foundation, it can find its way into the basement.
Can a downspout be moved or extended?
Yes. If a downspout empties in the wrong spot, it can be moved or extended so the water lands away from your foundation.
Should I replace my eavestroughs when I replace my roof?
If they’re in good shape, there’s no need. If they’re old, sagging or leaking, doing them at the same time can make sense since the work is already at the roof edge. Joseph will tell you what he sees.
